Al's Beef was shot in Arizona at a location where many major westerns have been filmed, including Sam Rami's The Quick and the Dead and Clint Eastwood's The Outlaw Josey Wales.
This film was shot over a couple of weeks in August of 2007, and is the first film to be shot at this location after a major storm hit destroying many of the buildings that had been standing for over 40 years. In the long run it may have added a post-apocalyptic nuance to the film's character.
